This is a photograph of the NWA 3230 meteorite. This is a photo of a thin section of this meteorite viewed through a microscope using transmitted cross polarized light. The different colors indicate the mineral and crystal composition of this meteorite.
I have been addicted to the Beautiful World of Meteorites In Thin Section every since I saw my first one 15 years ago. This passion turned me into a meteorite thin section collector and then a photographer. I try to capture the beauty of a meteorite without sacrificing the science behind it. Lately I have also been experimenting with different crystalized substances. This avenue of photography has already produced some amazing images and shows great potential. Now I would like to share some of these wonderful images with the World. Thank You for visiting my site! All comments are appreciated! Red Hot Spot Beautiful... you have a UNIQUE way of expression in your art. We can call it JEFFREY Signature Art. Try including the phrase in your description as you are not using all the characters permitted by FAA ... Good Luck.. Navin LF
Hodges Jeffery replied:
Thank you for looking at my art. It is a totally unique style still in development. I like the phrase "Jeffery signature Art " as there is no easy way to describe it. It takes exceptional and rare subject matter, lots of equipment and countless hours on the microscope to capture these images. Not to mention an eye capable of capturing the beauty of Meteorite mineralogy. I do not try and take boring scientific images but rather mix the science with art and create beautiful images still of scientific value.
