About Hodges Jeffery
I have been addicted to the Beautiful World of Meteorites In Thin Section every since I saw my first one 15 years ago. This passion turned me into a meteorite thin section collector and then a photographer. I try to capture the beauty of a meteorite without sacrificing the science behind it. Lately I have also been experimenting with different crystalized substances. This avenue of photography has already produced some amazing images and shows great potential. Now I would like to share some of these wonderful images with the World. Thank You for visiting my site! All comments are appreciated! Amin-Ullah Kakar
It looks like clinopyroxene in thin section, isn't it?
Hodges Jeffery replied:
Hello Amin-Ullah Kakar This is a meteorite classified as a Diogenite. Diogenites are an abundant type of achondrite, linked by geochemical traits such as oxygen isotopic ratios and certain elemental ratios, of which Fe/Mn is the most widely cited. The dominant mineral in diogenites is orthopyroxene. Thanks for the comment, Jeff
